with Cinnamon Ice Milk
Bon Appetit June 1988

Ice Milk:
4 large egg yolks
3/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
4 cups milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Compote:
1/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup dark rum
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

(Can be prepared 1 day ahead.) Freeze in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's directions. Freeze in covered container several hours to mellow flavors. (Can be prepared 1 day ahead.)
For compote
: Blend brown sugar, rum and lemon juice in large bowl. Mix
in nectarines. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour. Soften ice milk slightly in refrigerator. Spoon nectarines into shallow bowls. Top with scoops of ice milk. Sprinkle with blueberries. Serve immediately. Serves 8.
